We shaped a range of such mobile and multiuse elements to city of Umeå´s downtown spaces, in the year when the city was the European Capital of Culture. The downtown area become a tremendously platform featuring culture during the summer. New stages, rest or play furniture had to be invented that could easily be moved, by the visitors, stakeholders or artists, ensuring the spaces flexibility for to the many different events.

Our proposal was to make a range of “brick” elements, that you stack, puzzle or move creating various types of play, rest or performance furnitures. But most important, easy to move for sunlight, events and pleasure, or inviting and playful for many to use.

The Mobile Play Elements was produced by the city, and become well used, well spent and well-worn this very summer.
