Idea
What could be better than enriching Skellefteå with a carpet of gold?
Our aim is to create a beautiful public square that tells the story of Skellefteå’s culture and the importance of gold. The ambition is to establish a landmark with its own distinct character—a platform for the city’s culture, commerce, and everyday life.
With this proposal, Skellefteå gains a place with a strong identity, one that draws people in and invites them to stay—a square to be appreciated by generations, now and well into the future.
We begin by taking inspiration from the region’s distinctive landscape and history, which form the overarching framework for the design. This creates a strong sense of place, evoking the experience of being in the northern Swedish landscape, surrounded by tall pines and lichens.
We then simplify the site by creating clear and intuitive movement through and across the square and along the surrounding routes, allowing visitors to experience nature, history, and urban life as they move through the space.
Guldtorget is intended to be an icon—a place with attitude.

On going
Through our understated proposal, we allow nature to tell the area’s history by adapting the bridge to the landscape’s conditions. This approach not only preserves sightlines and vistas but also minimizes the impact on the site’s value-creating essence, the “Genius Loci.”
The significant forms of the bridge are thus inspired by and in harmony with the beauty of nature, creating a refined expression that can be appreciated both from a distance and up close.
We do not believe that Robertsfors requires a bridge with a strongly eye-catching design or “attitude.” Instead, our focus is on achieving a qualitative result that generates positive experiences by embracing the simplicity a new bridge can bring.
To capture the landscape’s gentle interplay of shadows and softly undulating forms, our response features an architecture where the bridge’s design is pure and simple, with graceful pillars and elements of relief patterns.

The architectural competition takes place on a unique site in the city of Münster, at the former Friedrichsburg Monastery. This site, rich with potential, will be urbanized, bringing an atmosphere of history and vitality to a new neighborhood.
The urban structure, ”3 Plazas, 3 Courtyards,” offers a sequence of high-quality public spaces within the neighborhood. It features a variety of facilities, housing, gardens, and spaces to stay, live, and play—embracing both green and urban environments.
Overall, the various individual aspects come together to create a simple yet intricate overall concept, offering high social, spatial, and architectural diversity.
The project aims to embody the principle of “Pluggendorf – ‘A Bit of Both,’” transforming the district into a vibrant part of Münster. It is defined by a diverse sequence of public and private spaces that seamlessly integrate with the city.
