1 Prize in Architect Competition 2011
Our answer is by a classical Campus – inspired by the old Italian Piazza a stage for business, leisure, events and politics. The Piazza rises above the city and will become a popular and important attraction, embracing the Campus focal point, a ginkgo tree “The Tree of Knowledge”.
It will give its students the privacy they desire whilst at the same time opens up the Campus towards the city and daylight. By creating a space that invites the public to see the real work behind the education face of the school, the public space will help the public to understand the cultural importance of the school itself. Providing both students and visitors with an opportunity to bring the community together and promotes an active lifestyle.
Our design features three building blocks that house different functions. Each block has a Patio in its center that becomes an undulated landscape, an accessible green courtyard providing a much-needed oasis for rest and study. Designed with characterful materials, shaping different identities from the elements of earth ” Fire, Water and Ice”.
