The new museum shop is not a building, nor a landscape, it´s in between

We propose the new building between the Museum of Central Finland and the Alvar Aalto Museum to be totally transparency; throughout the museums, to the pine forest, and towards the city of Ruusupuisto.

The roof of the new hub will shape an extended part of the nature behind. Promoting the new shop, that not only serve as the gateway between the museums, or invite visitors to new activities, but carefully embrace the surrounding landscape.

The museum shop will have a panorama view over Ruusupuisto, bringing life with new function and spaces for café, playing and resting.  Wooden facades, stairs and terraces pays tribute to the materiality of the Museum of Central Finland and serves as an important sustainable feature alongside the green roof.
